The Imagination Library of Oregon needs your help!
The Imagination Library of Oregon needs your help! The $2.2 million requested to sustain and expand Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library was not included in the state’s 2025–27 budget. This critical funding is essential to keep books in the hands of more than 67,000 Oregon children each month—and to reach even more families across the state.
We have a short but critical window to turn this around — and we need your help. To make it easy, we created an Advocacy Toolkit that includes a step-by-step guide on how to contact legislators, a template for crafting your message, and more.
Here are three actions you can take right now to support the restoration of this funding:
First: Email YOUR State Legislator
Help keep the Imagination Library of Oregon going strong — demand funding now! Instructions & draft language below!
Do you have a connection to a child or family who’s been positively impacted by the Imagination Library? Help us share their story with legislators or on social media!
We’re asking partners and supporters to take action on Monday (6/16), Tuesday (6/17), or Wednesday (6/18).
Dolly often says the true heroes of the Imagination Library are the local partners and advocates who’ve embraced her dream and made it their own. We couldn’t agree more. Whether you’re an official Local Program Partner or a dedicated champion or supporter, you are the heart of this work.
Your voice matters and your advocacy is invaluable as we fight for the funding the Imagination Library of Oregon needs to maintain the state match in the coming biennium.
