Bill Thorndike, representing the Crater Lake National Park Trust, recently journeyed to Slovenia to recognize and explore the new sister (brother) park relationship with Triglav National Park. Of special interest is the fact that the U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia is Medford native Brent Hartley who hosted Bill during his visit. Bill’s slide presentation included the capitol city of Ljubljana, four days in the beautiful Triglav National Park and a visit to the Slovenian wine region of Goriska Brda. Slovenia was founded in 1991 and was part of the former Yugoslavia.
