Dear Rotarian,
The youth of our community are the leaders of our future! In the words of Robert Kennedy, “This world demands the qualities of youth: not a time of life but a state of mind, a temper of the will, a quality of imagination, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease.” I believe this statement rings true today as when it was originally stated!
RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening, is considered one of the outstanding youth programs in Rotary. It is where high school young men and women spend a week in a challenging program of discussions, inspirational addresses, leadership training and social activities designed to enhance personal development, leadership skills, and good citizenship.
Attendance at RYLA is by scholarship only and our Club has sponsored 4 local students this past year. This week we have the opportunity to hear from the students that participated and how RYLA impacted them personally.
Please reach out to a fellow Rotarian you haven’t seen at a meeting in a while and have them join you in an afternoon of Rotary camaraderie! Let’s ignite that spark in one another! You may even get to say someday that your Rotary Club helped a future President, inventor, or innovator along their life path!
“If you ever think you’re too small to be effective, you’ve never been in bed with a mosquito!” – Wendy Lesko
See you on Tuesday!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Michelle Corradetti, President
