Dear Rotarian,
Did you wake up today knowing that you were going to experience something with passion? Was it the “good morning” ritual with your spouse or partner? Was it the bond in caring for your pet? Or was it simply your ritual of your morning coffee and the grinding of the beans and the alchemy that occurs when hot water is added?
Passion is a life skill—a stance—that helps bring vitality to all your engagements, from work, family, to creative, social and spiritual life. And it’s a survival mechanism—critical to health and well-being—because your attachment to life depends on your interest in it. I believe that passion breeds passion, and disinterest breeds disinterest. If you lack passion in your own life, your other relationships will be denied that energy—your partnerships, friendships, family, community, company. And this goes not just for the individual, but also for the collective.
At this week’s meeting I am simply beside myself in anticipation to hear Anne Batzer’s story about her recent travels to Kenya and her involvement, as well as the inspiration behind, the Makena Foundation. When I met Anne for the first time, she was full of passion! I believe her passion will be contagious with this program. Please bring a co-worker, a neighbor, or friend to experience what Rotary is all about and share your passion of our Organization. If you haven’t come to a meeting in a while, we welcome you with open arms and this will be a meeting not to miss!
Let Rotary and Anne’s story ignite that spark of passion in your life this week. That spark can ultimately evolve into something much bigger and better! What are you passionate about today?
Yours in Rotary Service,
Michelle Corradetti, President
P.S. – A sincere thank you going out to the Veterans in our Club and sphere of connection today.
