Dear Rotarian,
Hot chocolate and marshmallows, peanut butter and jelly, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Rotary Club of Medford and Medford Parks & Rec…. they just go together! Two words have been rattling around in my head this week – “symbiotic and synergistic.” Both of these words describe the relationship that has formed between our Rotary Club and Medford Parks & Rec.
First let’s consider our symbiotic relationship. I do have to say that both our Club and the Parks & Rec have a mutually beneficial relationship. We get to support the youth of our community both financially and through volunteerism (remember the wiggly wall at Bear Creek Park we sponsored and helped assemble, and our Slide-into-Summer event for kids both young and young at heart). These actions help fulfill the mission of Medford Parks & Rec!
In my mind, this relationship has now “taken it up a notch,” (as Emeril would say) so I think the word synergistic is apropos. I believe the interaction and cooperation between our Club and the Medford Parks & Rec has produced a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects!
This Tuesday we have the pleasure of hearing about our latest collaboration with the Medford Parks & Rec, Parks Uncorked. Please join me while Alex Modrell shares his passion about our upcoming event that will be both symbiotic and synergistic! You will want to put a big X on Friday, June 5th so you don’t make any other plans or commitments! This will be the event of the Summer!
See you on Tuesday!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Michelle Corradetti
