I’ve missed seeing all of you this week! I hope everyone’s had a wonderful break, and I’m excited to catch up at our next Rotary meeting on Tuesday, September 10th, at NOON at the Rogue Valley Country Club.
We have a special presentation lined up titled “Empowering Maya Children Through Education.” Our guest speaker, Emily Francona, will provide an insightful overview of the education and literacy programs provided by Adopt-a-Village in Guatemala. These programs, which are making a significant impact by empowering Indigenous children in remote Maya villages, align with one of Rotary’s key areas of focus—education and literacy.
Teaser: You might recognize Emily’s “driver” for the day—her husband Lt. Col. Rick Francona (Ret.)—from his many years as a military expert on CNN. Although he won’t be speaking, you’ll definitely want to meet him and hear more about his remarkable career.
- Song Leader: Dick Thierolf
- Sergeant-at-Arms: Charles Versteeg
- Greeter: TBD (Benji will confirm)
- Inspiration: A heartfelt thank-you message from Tobie & Tyler—his smile made my week! What could be more inspirational?
I look forward to seeing you all next week for what promises to be an inspiring and informative session.
Warm regards,
Breann Wright (She/Her)
President, Rotary Club of Medford
