What a weekend! The 86th Annual Medford Rotary Relays was one for the record books—literally. From school records being shattered to standout moments of sportsmanship and teamwork, this historic track and field event continues to be a source of pride for our community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible volunteers who braved the chilly weather with warm hearts and steady hands. Your presence at both Spiegelberg Stadium and Bowerman Field made a visible difference. Whether you were timing races, guiding teams, setting up, or cheering from the sidelines—thank you. This event simply could not happen without you.
A big round of applause also goes out to our generous sponsors. Your support ensures that this long-standing tradition continues to uplift and inspire local youth. With your help, we’re not only celebrating athleticism—we’re investing in the future of our community.
This year’s Relays were filled with unforgettable moments:
Crater’s Nathan Lindbloom broke the school javelin record with a throw of 177’10”
Eagle Point’s 4×100 relay team set a school record at 42.40 seconds
Crater’s girls relays broke school records in the 4×200 and shuttle hurdle events
North Medford’s Elijah Zavala delivered a thrilling win in the 1,500m with a No. 3 all-time school mark
And many more standout performances from local student-athletes!
Beyond the medals and broken records, what truly stood out was the spirit of the event. The teamwork, resilience, and camaraderie on display captured the true essence of what the Rotary Relays are all about.
Thank you again for being part of this extraordinary event. We are honored to help carry forward the tradition Bill Bowerman began in 1939—and we look forward to celebrating the 87th Relay next year with even more community spirit.
With gratitude,
Breann Wright
