Zoom Fatigue? Innovative Opportunities from the Field!

By Cynthia O’Neil on Tuesday, July 21, 2020

District Governor Cindi O’Neil has heard some very cool ideas recently from Clubs trying new ways to make membership during the COVID-19 pandemic fun, memorable, and all the while serving their communities too! Rotarian Ron Chandler of the Rotary Club of Lincoln City suggests the “Rotary Cache Mob.”

Club members mob their favorite restaurant, all on the same day, and order take out. One local restaurant owner reported that the 16 Rotary members who patronized his business made all the difference in his suffering cash flow that day. Same Club, different day, Lincoln City Rotarians cleaned a beach, maintaining safe social distancing. Members checked off items on their beach clean-up bingo cards. “Beach Bingo Winners” are then announced one evening during the Club’s Facebook Live event.

Fun, memorable, and “doing good” in their community. Bravo Rotary Club of Lincoln City! Click the bravo for the full story!

Spoiler Alert! Watch for DG CINDI’S big announcement in next week’s eNews

By Judith Corwin on Tuesday, July 21, 2020

District 5110’s online Business Directory called “B2B,” which stands for “Business to Business,” is a program that has grown and continues to evolve. Next week, DG Cindi will be announcing exciting program enhancements designed to give practical support to businesses in our District. “To celebrate our Business Directory and the new enhancements, next week’s D5110 Business of the Week will celebrate a very special Rotary entrepreneur without whose business, Rotary International would never have gotten off the ground,” DG Cindi told eNews last week.

Why does District 5110 care about supporting local businesses? “We want healthy businesses in our District so that these will be financially able to allow their owners and employees to be #PeopleOfAction as engaged Rotarians,” said DG Cindi. Read eNews next week for a major announcement.
