Doing Biz w/Rotarians: Midland Empire Insurance and Lawton Lesueur
By Bill Grile
In 1911, Paul Harris launched Rotary to leverage friendships and build ethical business relationships. He knew doing this would strengthen businesses as well as communities. Rotary Business Network aims to do likewise.
This week we salute Lawton Lesueur, owner of Midland Empire Insurance. Lawton is an active member of Grants Pass Rotary Club. He advocates for Polio Plus and The Rotary Foundation, and is involved in supporting the local Duck Race fundraiser.

Eugene Delta Back In-Person at Site of Their Grant Project
By Kim Meyers
“I’d like to make my Happy Dollar a JUBILANT dollar!” Eugene-Delta Rotary held an “IN PERSON!” meeting Friday May 21 in an outdoor meeting space at the Eugene Mission. Club President Kim Meyers was eager to have an actualmeeting and the timing with COVID guidelines + outdoor venue was perfect! The Eugene Mission is the site of their 2020/21 Grant Project.
The Eugene Mission has been a central receiving point for food donations during the COVID supply disruptions. The district grant repaired the freezer compressor blower that is a cold storage hub that provides 50,000 pounds of frozen proteins every month to community food box programs including Southtowne Rotary’s Head Start project.
The parking bay is a circa 1934 US Forest Service structure and the meeting place is now called “The Bay Front”. The area is largely outdoors and a lovely lunch and physical meeting was held. It was a wonderful ZOOM reunion and just wonderful to see people IN PERSON, with a 4-way Test flag and the entire meeting experience. The space is available to other clubs and groups! Just contact email@example.com .
