By Michael D. Corwinon Monday, March 30, 2020
Is your business continuing operation during these stay-at-home times? A service provided that needs to be known by your fellow Rotarians? Restaurant take-out or other essential service that would benefit from Rotarian word-of-mouth? Rotary was originated with the idea of connecting in fellowship and sharing our professions. Now more than ever, Rotarians need to support other Rotarians doing business in 5110.
To this end, District 5110 has established a new membership benefit called “B2B,” which stands for “Business To Business.” Its completely FREE, providing a FREE business listing for every business in D5110. Check it out by visiting www.5110b2b.org. This link will get you to the page to bookmark for the future. Questions? Contact eClub member Dan Smith: dan@dewaga.com.

Rotary Heroes: Great stories, more opportunities
By Michael D. Corwinon Monday, March 30, 2020
We have received several requests from news sources for stories regarding Rotary Heroes, which is a new segment on the District website and eNews. Several clubs have sent information, including Coos Bay/North Bend medical supplies, Greater Corvallis surgical masks for Samaritan Hospitals, and Eugene Southtowne food boxes. We know there are more and want to encourage your clubs to let us know what you are doing. For example, we received a text from Judi Beard Strubing about Sacred Heart RiverBend needing medical supply help. That request is below from KVAL TV news.
Here is the “Tell Us Your Story” link from the District Website. I encourage you to use it. We really do want to TELL YOUR STORY OF ROTARY SERVICE.
Thanks, Judy and Mike Corwin District Public Image Chair and eNewsletter Editor, respectively
More Heroes: Great Victories for Coquille and Redmond Clubs
By Michael D. Corwinon Monday, March 30, 2020
This from Bruce Parker of the Coquille Club: Because of the hardship caused by the quarantine and not being able to meet as a club, the restaurant that hosts our Coquille Club meetings has been forced to close. We as Rotarians decided to pay the monthly rent for as long as our funds allow. This has eased the hardship facing this business.
…And from Marv Kaplan in Redmond: The Redmond Club has been producing food boxes for healthcare workers in central Oregon in light of their long hours of dedication to the battle against COVID-19.
Clubs Find Ways in Face of COVID-19
By Daniel Sidderon Monday, March 30, 2020
As we have all experienced, the world is rapidly changing around. One that hasn’t changed is the can-do spirit and willingness to lead from Rotarians. With an itch to make an impact, members from the Rotary Club of Greater Corvallis recently met via Zoom for the initial meeting of the COVID-19 Task Force. This sub-committee is looking at direct and meaningful ways to support our community during this health crisis. The committee is looking at ways to 1) Connect members to opportunities to serve; 2) Build fellowship in this time of social distancing and 3) Leverage club resources and networks to be nimble partner.
