Doug Foster with the Crater Rock Museum informed fellow rotarians about the rich history of our valley’s ancient forests.
Over 1900 petrified wood specimens have been collected spanning the Eocene (56 million years ago) to the Miocene (5 million years ago) periods. Interestingly enough, there once grew tropical hardwoods, palm trees and tree ferns in the Rogue Valley. Thank you Doug! Read More

Rotary Club of Medford Members Honored With Paul Harris Fellow Award
Seven members were recognized with the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) award for exemplifying their commitment to the club’s motto of “Service Above Self.” District governor, Tim Mobley presented PHF awards to Lauren Regnani and Karic Roberge (PHF), David Figurate and Tisha Oehmen (PHF+1), Matt Patten (PHF+2) and top honors to Dennis Morgan and Jim Maddux who were honored with a PHF + 7. This means Dennis and Jim have been recognized a total of eight times for making contributions of $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant.
