As if that wasn’t enough….Dr. Kurt Wilkening will be here to present: “Amigo Vision in the Dominican Republic”
Kurt Wilkening, OD will present the January 2013 mission to the Dominican Republic, where a team of 18 worked with Rotarians from the Dominican Republic to see over 1100 patients in 5 1/2 days of clinic in Santiago, DR.
Dr. Wilkening founded AmigoVision, a Rotary project designed to bring sustainable vision care to the developing world, in 2000.
AmigoVision has conducted 17 vision care clinics over the last 13 years, examining over 20,000 patients, dispensing more than 25,000 pairs of prescription glasses and arranging for hundreds of ophthalmic surgeries and medical therapies. Amigo Vision has brought teams of volunteers to Mexico, Peru, Vietnam, Thailand and most recently, the Dominican Republic and Josephine County, Oregon.
