Who are The? Gary Sherwood and Erin Maxson shared with members their personal stories during our “Who Am I” Club Meeting presentation.
Gary Sherwood – attended public schools in Portland Oregon – graduating from Lincoln High School. Gary went on to Oregon State University to obtain a pharmacy degree. He also attended Miami University. He returned to Portland and worked for 23 years for Good Samaritan Hospital. In 1994, he was the COO for Rogue Medical Center (Asante). He also worked for Southern Oregon Orthopedics before retiring. He is involved with Dogs for Better Lives and the Britt Festival Board of Directors. He has been married for 51 years. He also is a big CUBs fan and loves basketball as well.
Erin Maxson –when she was young she moved from a big city (Minneapolis) to a small city – Decorah Iowa. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and later was an intern with Entertainment Tonight. Erin worked for ten years for KDRV – channel 12. Erin stated that “storytelling does not just change the world it changes you”. She said some of the impactful stories she covered were the Boles Fire, the UCC shooting, and observing an actual open-heart surgery. Her love for animals brought her to her new place of employment – Wildlife Images
