Growing Community Compost in Medford

Flavia Franco of the Southern Oregon Food Solutions and the Community Compost Coalition will explain how Community Compost engages and empowers community, builds local resilience, helps reduce water use and promotes local businesses.  Starting in March 2024, the Community Compost Coalition will be providing a free food scrap drop site service at the Thursday Medford Growers Market. The Coalition’s model is to collect food scraps from urban areas, and transport them to local farms where they will be used to create compost and grow more food.
