Rotary Relays will be March 17 – we need 80 volunteers and we will need each person to fill out a form in advance of the event.
Bell Ringers had a good showing and we raised $1230.80 for the Salvation Army.

Caleb LaPlante spoke at our club on Tuesday on the topic of Rotary and Modern Day Slavery. Caleb reported that Rotary is doing significant work in trying to abate Human Trafficking.Human Trafficking is one individual using force to trade for commerce. There are 45 million individuals in this condition worldwide.Locally, several clubs using Rotary Foundation funds to bring public awareness to 22 survivors of trafficking who have accomplished significant things with their lives. Local leaders attended a breakfast to help move forward some legislation that was subsequently signed off on. You can visit the website at http://mtas-roguevalley.com. As an added bonus, Redemption Ridge reported a significant spike in referrals and calls as an outcome of the project.
Each of the last 2 RI conventions has had anti-slavery speakers at the most prominent stages.
There are significant projects being completed by Rotarians throughout the US. A Safehouse being built in Vegas, a District Conference dedicated to the topic, airings of the movie ‘I am Jane Doe’ (which would be good to watch if you want to learn more).
GenerationFreedom.com by United Way is a great resource for learning about organizations working on this issue and as potential Global Grant collaborations.
Out of the Atlanta Convention, there is an effort underway to connect Rotarians working on this issue.
The Rotary Action Group Against Slavery is a good group to be involved in if this is a point of interest.
The most important things we can do is to work on providing a safety net for Foster kids, like CASA, Every Child, and Safe Families would be good to check out.
