Last week, the Rotary Club of Medford witnessed a heartwarming and inspiring moment that transcends generations. One of our long-term members, with deep gratitude, anonymously donated 1,000 Paul Harris points to recognize his mentor from over 40 years ago—none other than Bert Bamforth. This act of generosity bestowed upon Bert the esteemed Paul Harris Fellowship Award, a prestigious recognition in Rotary.

Today, Bert’s legacy was celebrated in the most fitting way—a recognition that reflects how one person’s generosity can inspire another to carry the torch forward. His decision to guide a young man so many years ago created a ripple effect that still shapes our community today.
The story of Bert and his mentee reminds us that every opportunity given, every hand extended in support, can create lasting change. The act of giving doesn’t just impact one—it empowers entire communities.
We are honored to have witnessed such a powerful moment that exemplifies the Magic of Rotary. Thank you, Bert Bamforth, for showing us all what true service, mentorship, and leadership mean.
Here’s to continuing that legacy!
