Hi District 5110 Rotarian Rotarian,
I find myself in a tricky situation.
I am sure we can all agree that this last year has been extremely challenging. One of my responsibilities as the District’s Annual Fund Chair is to ask each one of our clubs to give to the Rotary Foundation. When I broached this subject with a club in my area “go ahead and ask!” was the response I received. Along with “Rotarians are the most generous people I know.”
At the end of January 2021, we were halfway to our District’s Foundation giving goal.
Not many of us suspected we would be affected by the pandemic as long as we have. Nor did we expect the devastation caused by fires in 2020. So, I get it. It may be tough for many of you to consider giving to the Foundation. But for those of you who can find it in your heart and pocketbook to support our Charity Navigator 4-Star Foundation (for the 13th year in a row!!), please write the check or click on this link to continue our future humanity projects supported by our giving.
One last thing-
Last week my dad, Past District Governor Dave Reece and current District Fund Development Chair, called my attention to the article “The Satisfaction of Stepping Up” on page 60 in the February 2021 edition of the Rotary magazine. Have you read it? If so, I would love to know where you are on Maimonides’ ladder.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Lexi Crawford
