During this very difficult year – you have continued to see the wisdom in supporting your Rotary International Foundation.
With 2 weeks to go our club has averaged $193.16 in donations to TRF. That is just $2.44 shy of our 5+ year high – a total of $21,441 to Polio Plus and the Annual Fund.
Because of your generosity we have helped feed kids through our Power Pack program, given food to senior citizens through Food and Friends locally and given medicines to one of the poorest countries in the world. And we have supported TRF in tens of thousands of other local and international projects around the globe. One of which was to provide our Peace Fellowship scholarship to a wonderful young lady from Malawi. She was so committed that she left her husband and kids to work on a masters degree in Public Health at UNC/Duke. My wife Marti and I were able to spend an afternoon with her last fall in North Carolina and she continues to help our efforts to send a medical team to Africa next year. This time our medical team will not only help the individuals in different villages but will also train health workers there.
What a good feeling to know that we are helping locally and globally. Thank you again.
